4th Grade- Ms. Nicole Habeeb
Hello and Welcome to Room 13!
My name is Nicole Habeeb and I am so grateful to be a part of this Beresford Bear community. I have the privilege to be an educator in the San Mateo Foster City School District, the same district that I grew up in! Family and love is at the center of my life and I have such a beautiful community that has raised me, supported me, loved me, and continues to do so every day.
I also know how much community and trust is the foundation of a classroom, and so I have worked, and continue to work, on ensuring that the love, community and trust remains the center of any classroom that I am working within. I am continually working on ensuring this through valued colleague collaboration, parent student teacher teamwork and reading. I read with the purpose to further my education, my understanding of identity, community, and educational framework so that I can be the educator that my students deserve, a facilitator who sees them, believes in them, and ensures that the classroom space has diverse tools for them to empower themselves to be the person they want to be.
The best collaborators and teachers that I have had, are truly my students. I have been working as an educator in this district for 6 years. For five years, I had the honor of teaching first and second grade and being part of the Lead Elementary School community. For one year, I was kindly welcomed into the Parkside and Beresford communities as a resource specialist, before deciding to return back to the classroom. I have also worked in the Los Angeles Unified School District, through Americorps, supporting a family resource center and growing my understanding of the many important facets of children's diverse communities. I earned my Multiple Subject Credential and Master's as University of California, Berkeley.
When I am away from the classroom, I enjoy the great outdoors, spending time with my family and friends, painting, building my children's book collection, and attempting to acquire new art skills!
All are welcome here in Room 13 and I'm grateful for the opportunity to get to know you!
